Fatal Fire in Nether Providence

Company 52 was dispatched to the 600 blk. of Morris Ln. in Nether Providence for a dwelling fire with reported entrapment. Quint 52 w 6 and Squad 52 w 3 both copy and responded from separate incidents to the building fire. Asst. 65a arrived on scene with heavy fire showing on Division 1 and confirmed the entrapment on Division 2 of the dwelling. Ladder 65 arrived and stretched an attack line. Quint 52 arrived as the first due truck and immediately went to work. The quint crew forced the door and was met with heavy smoke and hoarding conditions on the first floor. They made their way up the steps to find and remove 1 victim. Squad 52 arrived as the first due engine and dropped a water supply as well as stretched a 1 3/4in. attack line. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed due to his injuries. Thoughts and prayers are sent to the family involved. Units operated under the command of Asst. 65a. Rescue 52 and Ambulance 52B were also on scene. Other units were 14, 51, 65, 23, and 44. Brookhaven Fire Company also handled 2 other building fires, a vehicle fire, a fire alarm, 2 EMS assists, and 8 wires calls in 2 days.
